Hi, My name is Dr. Perrotto. I'm a licensed psychologist, certified school psychologist and certified trauma professional with over 20 years of experience. I utilize CBT/ACT and psychodynamic principals in my practice. I aim to empower people to live their best lives and reach their goals. I am open minded, non-judgmental and caring.
Vulnerability to hurt, disappointment, sadness, and grief are a normal part of the human experience. In trying to make sense of these struggles, we often turn them inward, forming painful beliefs about ourselves and the world that can shape our relationships and sense of self.
I believe that a genuine, authentic therapist-client relationship has the power to heal. I'm not looking to "fix" my clients, but instead become a fellow traveler in their therapeutic process. We will work collaboratively to identify and remove both conscious and unconscious barriers that may be keeping you stuck, moving you toward a life that is meaningful, authentic, and purposeful. This may involve offering new ideas and techniques, or identifying and shifting unhelpful patterns, transforming them into more adaptive behaviors. In this safe, judgment-free space, you can reconnect to who you truly are.
I completed my graduate studies at New York University's Silver School of Social Work and have worked in both private practice where I served adult individuals and couples, and community-based settings, focused on protecting families and strengthening secure attachments. These experiences have shaped my deep respect for the ways people adapt to early relational environments—and how those adaptations can later create both resilience and pain.
I work with individuals facing depression, anxiety, OCD, relational challenges, attachment wounds, family of origin issues, patterns rooted in early family dynamics and the intergenerational effects of trauma on parenting and relationships, including narcissistic abuse.
I hold a special interest in those impacted by the issues faced by adult children of alcoholics and dysfunctional families.
I bring over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in both clinical and educational settings. I believe therapy should feel safe, supportive, and free of judgment. Whether you come in with clear goals or simply a sense that something isn’t working, both are completely okay. I value authenticity, collaboration, and meeting you exactly where you are. My role is not to “fix” you, but to support you in recognizing your strengths and building the tools you need to navigate life with greater confidence.
I'm so glad you're here. Let's explore and prioritize your growth, agency, and resilience.
My clients appreciate learning about themselves through eclectic sessions that combine verbal processing with somatic experiencing and creative exploration. I strive to center the growing self-expertise of my clients within an anti-oppressive therapy framework. I have experience working with neurodiverse, queer, trans, poly, kink, and clients exploring altered states.
