You made it, welcome! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who came to this work with nearly a decade of crisis intervention experience - the kind of work that teaches you crisis and chaos isn't always an emergency, but often a transformation that needs space to unfold. I earned my degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology, and I've spent my career specializing in the places where high-stakes work meets human breaking points: occupational trauma, moral injury, burnout, and the complex territory of identity and transition.
I work particularly well with people in helping professions -first responders, military, healthcare workers, teachers, therapists, and LGBTQIA+ folks - anyone who's spent years being the capable one, the reliable one, the one who shows up no matter what. My training includes Brainspotting, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), and somatic approaches that work with how trauma actually lives in your body and nervous system, not just in your thoughts.
Here's what matters: I get that asking for help doesn't come naturally when you're supposed to be the strong one. I understand that the hypervigilance that once kept you safe might now be keeping you isolated. And I know that sometimes the hardest part is figuring out who you are when you're not performing competence for everyone else. You don't have to translate your experience into therapy-speak with me, and you definitely don't have to pretend you're more okay than you are.
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor (CATC-IV) with over 16 years of experience in behavioral health and substance use treatment. I was certified in 2012 for addiction treatment and licensed in 2022 for mental health. I work with adults navigating substance use and recovery, co-occurring anxiety and depression, and life transitions that impact emotional well-being.
I have particular experience supporting men and members of the LGBTQIA+ community in building sustainable recovery, strengthening emotional resilience, and improving relationship health. My work is grounded in a deep respect for the recovery process and the courage it takes to pursue change. I understand that growth is rarely linear, and I approach each client with patience, steadiness, and practical support.
I provide structured, virtual outpatient therapy for adults managing mild to moderate symptoms who are seeking stability, accountability, and meaningful forward movement. At the heart of my work is a commitment to clarity and care to help clients better understand themselves while feeling respected, supported, and empowered throughout the process.
I am here to support your healing process so you can live in alignment with what matters to you most. Whether you're adjusting to loss or change in your life, or healing from trauma, together we can create new habits and ways of thinking that promote your overall wellbeing. I have over 10 years of experience in working with clients in various capacities and have seen the power we all have to heal.

Hello, my name is Monica Cooley and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I have a diverse background of client populations including children, adolescence, adults, couples, and families facing issues of trauma, anxiety, depression and personality disorders. It is common for clients to initiate therapy reporting challenges with self-esteem, motivation, seeking life purpose and relationships.
I'm a licensed Psychologist dedicated to providing trauma-informed, inclusive, and compassionate care to survivors of trauma, the LGBTQ+ community, neurodivergent adults, and anyone struggling with anxiety, stress or relationships. I am passionate about helping people navigate not only trauma and anxiety, but all aspects of themselves, their intersecting identities, and their lives.
I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with over 10 years of experience in the field. I have been working in the mental health system of care in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, private practice, and court-mandated environments.
I entered the mental health field to support individuals through their most challenging moments. Working across diverse settings has deepened my understanding of how trauma and life transitions shape our experiences, and I'm committed to helping clients build resilience and find their path forward.
My ideal client is an adult or teenager who needs support with mood disorders, trauma, domestic violence, life transitions, or anxiety. Much of my career has been focused on working with these populations.
I help clients reach their goals by identifying thought patterns that may be holding them back, then collaboratively developing practical strategies for change. We'll work together to build on your strengths, process past experiences, and create tools you can use in daily life to manage challenges effectively.
